Excel Tip - Limiting the scope of Excel's
Find and ReplaceThe Find and
Replace features available from Excel's Edit menu can be
applied to just a specific worksheet range. To do so, simply
select the appropriate cells prior to invoking the features.
You can take advantage of this behavior to easily restrict
searches to specific types of data and cell contents by also
using Excel's Go To feature. For example, you normally can't
restrict Replace to work with only cells containing worksheet
formulas. However, you can pre-select those cells using Go To.
To do so, choose Edit | Go To from the menu bar, then click
the Special button. When the Go To Special dialog box appears,
select the Formulas option button and click OK to select the
appropriate cells. Then, choose Edit | Replace and use the
feature as you normally would.
