Computer Services is divided into three
functional areas:

The Support Center is staffed by Nathan
Lochala (Computer Systems Technician), Marla Rigsby (Software Specialist), and several students that
perform various duties for the Support Center staff. The
functions of the Support Center include:

Delivery and set up of new personal
computers and peripherals

Troubleshooting network wiring and network
client problems
-
Providing support for software and hardware
problems
-
Supporting the campus Academic labs with
hardware maintenance and installation of software
-
Providing regularly scheduled and on-demand
training for faculty and staff for common software
applications

Network Services and Support are
provided by Rob Crockett. Rob Crockett's duties include:

Maintaining all of the campus file
servers
-
Maintaining the campus internet
connection
-
Planning for the implementation of new
network technologies
-
Planning, implementing, and maintaining
network security policies
-
Administrative Application Support is
the operations area of the Computer Services Department.
The operations area personnel are Bill Phelps (Director
of Computer Services), John Hill (Senior
Programmer/Analyst), Sheila Baker (Programmer), Melinda
Fowler, (Office Manager), and Kevin Herrington
(Web Services Coordinator). The responsibilities of the operations area
include:

Planning and coordinating new technology
directions

Programming and maintenance of all of the
University's Administrative Applications

Design and maintenance of the
University's web pages
-
Coordination of all of the web design
projects on campus
-
Providing all of the data processing
functions (running reports, designing queries, etc.)
