Analog Phone Reference Guide

Please note: If you have a 3 digit phone number in Cone Bottoms you should continue to use your normal phone procedures until you receive a new IP phone.

Placing Calls

  • Faculty or Staff phone: Dial last four digits of their telephone number.
  • Residence Hall phone: Dial 9 + seven digit phone number.
  • Tip: You will not hear a second dial tone after entering 9.
  • Local Calls: Dial 9 + seven digit phone number.
  • Long Distance: Dial 9 + 1 + area code + number + (pause) + long dist code.

Call Transfer

  • Press flash or switchhook.
  • Dial #3 + four digit number.
  • Tip: Dial #3 * + four digit number to transfer directly to voicemail.
  • You may hang up or stay on the line to announce the call.
  • If no answer, press flash or switchhook twice to return to first call.

Three-way Conference

  • Dial or answer first call.
  • Press flash or switchhook.
  • Dial #4 + 4 digit number.
  • Press flash or switchhook once to conference both calls.

Call Hold

  • Press flash or switchhook.
  • You may optionally place another call.
  • Hang up and wait for ring to resume call.

Call Pickup

  • Dial * 7. 

Call Forwarding

  • To activate: Dial #2. Wait for dial tone. Dial call forward number. To cancel: Dial #0.

Voicemail

  • Dial 8010 or 0# and follow prompts.
